Geometrical: Love You So

I made this card at the same time as I made the "Cheer Up Buttercup" card from my previous post. I used different colors and another great sentiment from the Geometrical stamp set. I can't remember the names of everything I used to make these cards but I'm letting myself slide since I am on vacation.

I love bright colors and funny enough I've been seeing a lot of houses and buildings painted in fun colors like these... I guess in the Caribbean they think nothing of painting their houses in Calypso Coral with Daffodil Delight trim.

Whoa!! I just caught some movement out of the corner of my eye and there is gecko on the floor licking at something! It just ran back under the fridge! I'm off to investigate. Goodnight all!

Cheer Up Buttercup!
I pretty much bought this awesome stamp set (Geometrical) because I wanted to be able to stamp "Cheer Up Buttercup!" on my cards. For some reason it just makes me smile.

I happen to be on vacation in the Caribbean right now (lucky me!) but I wanted to post some cards while I had the chance.  This card was one of my late night (early morning) projects and required a lot of detail work. I had to do a lot of punching out of tiny pieces from the pieces I ran through my Big Shot and then came the poking of holes (in the gray). It was a great project to mindlessly occupy my mind (if that makes sense)-I was in my happy place and I was happy with how they turned out.

Please feel free to comment or ask questions!

BUTTERFLY BOX CARD
I made this Butterfly Box Card for my sister's birthday. She loves butterflies and so do I! I got the directions for this box card from my friend Amanda (www.amandasevall.com) and they were very easy to follow. I used the Stampin'Up! butterfly and artisan punches and the Papillon Potpourri stamp set. I hand colored all of the butterflies-that was probably the most fun part for me because I love to color! I also used the Gorgeous Grunge and Petite Petals stamp sets. Gorgeous Grunge is my favorite stamp set for adding a little extra something to any background. This was my first box card and I am glad it turned out.

By the Tide

A couple months ago I did my first card swap with my up-lines and my little Stampin' Up family. I got some really great cards in the swap and this By the Tide card is what I came up with to give to them.  I love the little sea horse in this set. It just might be one of my favorite stamp sets. I embossed the sea horses and used the new "in color" Lost Lagoon-my favorite new "in color."
Giggle Greetings Cat Birthday

This is a quick birthday card that I whipped up for a friend's birthday. She loves cats! I love the polka dot DSP.  I used the Stampin' Trimmer to make a slit on the left side of the card front so that I could thread the ribbon through and wrap it around the card.

Flamingo Lingo

Flamingo Lingo!
Wood:134303 / Clear: 134306

I have been having a lot of fun with the stamps from the new Stampin' Up! catalog. The set I used for this card is called Flamingo Lingo and I love it! I almost didn't see it in the catalog because it is hidden on the very last page (inside of the back cover). Glad I found it!

For this card I used the Label Card Thinlet (133479) to make the flip card base in Pool Party (122924). I used Gorgeous Grunge to ink the background with Pool Party ink (126982). The fun flamingo background paper is retired DSP and I'm so glad I had it stashed away! The background color on the flip part of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe (131298) and is inked in the same color (131176). The blue flower background in center is inked in Marina Mist (126962) as is the water at the bottom of the card. The water is actually a cloud stamp from the Think Happy stamp set (W:133967/ C:133970). I stamped it twice, side-by-side, to make it look like water. The flamingo, the flowers and the "hi" are all in Strawberry slush as are the sequins in the centers of the flowers.
I punched out the flowers using the Petite Petals Punch         (133322) and the "Tickled Pink" is cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies (12967). A little coil of Bakers Twine in Pool Party and this card was finished! I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by,
Maria

Woohoo! My first post worked. I am so excited!

Last night I stayed up really late (who has time to craft during the day?) and made this card. I had a lot of fun using the Blendabilities markers and really love this stamp set (Bloom with Hope).

Hi!
Welcome to my blog (my first blog ever)! I wanted to create a place where I could share the cards I make and share some fun card techniques that I learn from other people. Sometimes people ask me how I make my cards and now I will have a place to show you! I use Stampin' Up! products so you will often see a list of products or items used listed after my card projects.

This entry is something of a test entry. I'm trying to make sure I understand how this blog site works so if I make mistakes please kindly overlook them (at least for a little while-then you can hassle me).

Thanks for visiting!
