Endless Wishes: Stampin' Up!

In the middle of a card party this past weekend my card making buddies and I decided to switch gears and make a totally unplanned and unprepped card.... WHAT!? I know, crazy.  I had seen a very similar card to this on Pinterest (Thank you Rita Wright) and we decided to take that card and change it up a bit. I used Gorgeous Grunge and Gold Metallic Encore Ink to stamp my background. Then I used the the snowflakes from the Endless Wishes stamp set and embossed them in Silver and Pool Party. I used some glue dots to add sequins from the Frosted Sequins in the Holiday Catalog, twine and cute little star. Then after rounding two opposite corners of my card I stamped the inside and outside of the card with sentiments from the Endless Wishes set. I put it all together with some dimensionals and Wa-La! A quick and easy card that I hope will bring someone a smile and a dash of joy!

Fall Fest: I'm Having fun with this Ghost!

I am beginning to notice a trend... While this card would only take me minutes to replicate, it took me FOREVER!, to dream up! I had the idea in my head but then I had to try it with orange, with a different DSP and with the Tangerine Tango Twine instead of the Old Olive twine. FINALLY, this is the combo I decided on. I seem to do this with all of my cards and I am wondering if other people do the same thing? It seems normal to obsess over the details...but seriously...I may have to challenge myself to making cards in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Anyways, I love this little ghost, and I love that I can cut it out with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies. My fascination with the Confetti Stars Punch is not over. I love using it both as a punch and to use the confetti stars on my cards as I did here. I used the Fall Fest stamp set for the Ghost's face and the retired stamp set Googly Ghouls for the "Boooo."I used a sponge dauber with a little Smoky Slate ink to add a little color to both the ghost and the word bubble.

Here is a product list (I forgot to add the Jet Black Stazon Ink Pad-101406, the Smoky Slate Ink Pad-131179, and, the Sponge Daubers-133773)... Happy Stamping everybody!

Star Framelits & Be the Star

Star Framelits & Be the Star You Are: PP211

This card is my first go at participating in an on-line paper/card challenge. One of my Stampin' Up! buddies, Amanda Sevall, suggested I try doing one and gave me a couple of sites to check out.

Here's a side view so you can see the layers.

One of those sites was "The Paper Players."  This week they are putting on a tic-tac-toe challenge. There is a tic-tac-toe board with different design elements in each square (I posted a picture of their Tic-Tac-Toe board below). The idea is to pick any three-in-a-row design elements and make your card using them. I selected the middle vertical row that had Green, Embossing and Ribbon. It was really fun creating a card based on challenge requirements. It forced me to think about my card differently and to be creative in a way that had some boundaries. I really had fun and I will do it again!

Card Recipe:

The card base is basic gray. The second layer is Island Indigo and the front layer is Pear Pizazz embossed with the new Lucky Stars  Embossing Folder. I used snail adhesive to fix the Silver Ribbon to the back of the Pear Pizazz. The two stars were cut using the Star Framelits and the larger is Island Indigo and the smaller is Pear Pizazz. Both stars are stamped with the Be the Star stamp set and embossed with VersaMark ink and Silver Emboss Powder. I assembled the card with Dimensionals and finished it off by blinging it out with some Rhinestones.

I sure hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by!
