WWYS #9: Mother's Love

Hi everybody! Happy Monday and welcome to another terrific week of What Will You Stamp? In case you're wondering what this challenge blog is all about... It's a weekly challenge blog that's posted every Monday and it features a different Stampin' Up! set each week. Each member of the design team will post a card or project they made using the set. Anyone who wants to is invited to participate by submitting a card or project of their own to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog (Click Here).

Here's my card.

The flowers from the Mother's Love set are stamped in Pistacio Pudding on Crumb Cake card stock. Then I used my Blender Pen to color in the flowers with Calypso Coral Ink. The "For You" and those pretty pin (pirouette) background flowers are also from the set. It's hard to tell but I used some Crystal Effects to make the words shiny. I was in something of a "waste not one scrap of paper" kind of mood when I mad this and the butterflies were leftovers from another project. The middle one is wax paper (don't laugh) and the gold butterfly frame was leftover from a butterfly I had previously cut out and all I had to do was fussy cut the border out.

This card needed a fancy envelope with some gold embossing to match the sequins on the card.

Here's what the whole stamp set looks like. Do you have it? Play along with us this week then!

I can't wait to see your creations over at WWYS!
Happy crafting and have a great week!

Stampin' Up! Retiring List 2015

Ahhhhh! So much great stuff is on the retiring list this year. I'm telling myself that it's ok because it means that SU will be bringing us some AMAZING new products when the new annual catalog comes out in June. But for now... There may be a few things you want to get before they're gone (some of your favorites might even be discounted so go get them!). Please use:

HOSTESS CODE: YTF29JRP

for all orders under $150.

For me, it's the outgoing In Colors. I just love them! And if you don't have the Butterfly Basics Bundle yet-it's time to get them before the Occasions catalog stretch is over (April 30th) and while you can still get a free SAB item as a bonus while supplies last. Here's a card I made with the retiring In Colors and the Butterfly Basics Bundle. I hope you like it.

Have fun shopping! I hope you get what you want!!

WWYS #8: Hello Love

Happy Monday! This week at What Will You Stamp we are using a stamp set that I absolutely love! It is called Hello Love and has so many fun images and sentiments it can really be used for a variety of different card and project ideas. I'm excited to see both the design team's and challenge participant's card submissions this week because I'm pretty sure we are going to be seeing a lot of variety. Here's my card...

It's a little hard to see in the photos but I heat embossed the "raining hearts" with dazzling details for a subtle but shimmery look. It's really pretty! The "rain" is stamped in Smokey Slate and some of the hearts are colored in with Pool Party. I used a strand of linen thread for the birds to stand and hang on. The birds are heat embossed in black and colored in with Stampin' Write markers.

I finished off the inside of the card by adding another little bird stamped in Memento ink with the saying, "Keep It Real."

Here's a look at what the whole Hello Love stamp set looks like.

I really like this set a lot and I'm hoping you all will join us this week over at What Will You Stamp?! If you have a great idea (or any idea really!) about how to use this set then please join us by submitting a card of your own to the challenge blog. I'm looking forward to see what you will create to share with us! Check out my supply list below if you like and please feel free to leave a comment or message me with any questions.

Butterfly Thinlits Thank You!

I was so excited last week when the Butterflies Thinlits came back in stock! I had some customers who were very excited too and made their Butterfly Basics Bundles and Butterflies Thinlits orders as quickly as possible. I thought a fun way to thank them would be to send them a card using the Butterfy Basics Bundle so they have one more idea of what they can make with their new products. Here's what I'll put be putting in the snail mail tomorrow. I hope they like them!

WWYS #7: From the Garden

It's Monday and that means another wonderful week of What Will You Stamp!  This week's stamp set is From the Garden. It's a set that I instantly knew I wanted when I saw it in the catalog but for some reason I haven't had a chance to pull it out. It has matching framelits too which makes for even more fun! Here's my project... I had so much fun!

I used the Curvy Keepsakes Framelit to cut out a box in Pink Piroutte. Then I stamped the pieces of my box with the Something Lacy background stamp in Pink Piroutte. I love how it made for a subtle and pretty background. I punched out some flowers and leaves and embellished them with pearls. The cute sign is from the From the Garden set and was cut out using the matching framelits. The sign is held in place because I slipped it through the slot below the handle of the box. It fits perfectly and is easily removed so that the box can be opened. Also, if you recreate this project, or decorate any Curvy Keepsake Box project, make sure you do it in a way that you can still open and close the box without ruining the decorations.

Super surprise!! When you open up this pretty little box there's a cute little ladybug waiting inside! It's just "Sweet As Can Be..." Ha ha!

Here's a close-up of the inside. I punched out two flowers for the ladybug to sit on and it just fits perfectly inside of the box. In case you're looking to do something like this, the ladybug is a Lindt chocolate and came in a five pack with some other cute little bugs. I gave this box to my mom and she loved it. I love making my mom happy!

I hope you liked my project this week. Leave me a comment and let me know what you thought-I love reading your comments! Here's what the whole stamp set From the Garden looks like. I didn't used it in this project but I really love the little vine on the bottom left.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the WWYS design team has created this week! If you have a chance to get crafty this week we would love to see what you come up with using this stamp set! Thanks for stopping by my blog this week and post your cards on the WWYS soon because until then I will be wondering What Will You Stamp?!

If you want to recreate this project and want to check out the products I used please check out the table below. If you have any questions please ask! You can leave me a comment here or feel free to shoot me an email. Have a great week!

WWYS #6: Choose Happiness

Wellllllll, Hey! How are you guys today? I'm doing great because today (at the time I am writing this post) I got my cast off! It's very exciting to have my wrist and arm free again (if you didn't know, I tore two ligaments in my wrist training jiu jitsu and needed reconstructive surgery to repair it). Now I just have to wear a brace for the next month-at least I can take it off and give my hands a proper washing. I'm hoping that writing and coloring will be a little easier too because the cast did make that difficult. Anyways, enough about me... Welcome back to another amazing week of WWYS! This week's challenge is a beautiful set from Stampin' Up! called, Choose Happiness. After one discarded attempt... here's my card.

I made the center background piece (starburst) first and then built the rest of the card around it. I used Pistachio Pudding to stamp the leaves on both backgrounds. On the starburst background I used Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight to sponge a background. Then I colored the leaves with Pool Party and outlined some of them with Daffodil Delight.

The bird, the border and the pretty background stamps are heat embossed in Pewter. I used scraps/shreds of the Bermuda Bay sequins string and the silver pulled out of the silver baker's twine to embellish the card. I about died when I was pulling the silver out of my twine. I felt like I was ruining it but I do love the way it looks on this card. I also really like that embossed stamp in the background. It's so elegant!

Here's a little side view so that you can see some of the details a little better.

Here's what the whole stamp set looks like. It's got a couple of great sentiments. I've been trying to make more blank cards lately so I didn't use either one of them on this card but my fingers are itching to use them soon!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the WWYS Design Team has created using Choose Happiness. As always, I'm looking forward to seeing... What Will You Stamp?!
