WWYS #22: No Bones About It

Update: Woohoo! Excited to say that I was a Designer's Pick over at CYCI! Thanks CYCI!

Welcome back to this week's What Will You Stamp Challenge and I'm crashing the party over at CYCI#79 this week too! This week we've got a No Bones About It challenge! This set is in the current catalog in the kids sections but I've got to say that I think it works really well for us old folks too! Here's my card for the week...

I used Very Vanilla cardstock for my base and the "page" with the dinosaur fossil on it. The background was made using a retired background stamp that I love but you could also use the map paper from the Typeset DSP and it would look very similar. I used a sponge dauber to antique my paper with Crumb Cake ink. The fossil is stamped in Early Espresso to match the strip of paper on the left side. That strip of paper was heat embossed with footprints in Early Espresso.

I used my rotary stamper (love that thing) to create a custom greeting and snipped those pieces out by hand. I adhered them with glue dots and popped the "page" up using dimensionals. I added another strip of home made map DSP to the inside of the card, stamped another fossil and called it good!

I hope you like it!  Check out this whole set below! There aren't just fossils but whole dinosaurs too. I also love all of the little details that you get with this set. You get so many leaves, dots/spots, foot prints and even a  little party hat for the dinos! Pretty cool!

Don't forget to hop on over to What Will You Stamp? to see what the rest of the design team has created this week! This set is so amazing and can be used in so many different ways that I can't wait to get over there and check it out myself! I hope you'll take the time to join us this week! We would love to see What Will You Stamp with the No Bones About It set and you can submit your project ideas directly to our blog over at WWYS! Did you know that we pick a winner each week from those of you play along.... and that winner becomes our guest designer in one of the upcoming challenges! Don't miss your chance to join us!

...And, this two week "Anything Goes" challenge from the crew over at CYCI is kind of irresistible... so count me in again! Gotta love CYCI#79!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy Monday!

WWYS #21: Cupcake Party and CYCI#79

Welcome back to this week's What Will You Stamp Challenge! We've got another fun one for you this week as we are featuring Cupcake Party! Truth be told I don't have this stamp set so Amanda was kind enough to stamp some images for me and pop them in the mail. Thanks Amanda! I told her to just "surprise me" and she picked awesome colors that I was thrilled with (Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry). I added Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Basic Black to the mix along with the new Everyday Chic DSP and I love how the colors pop on this card!

Here's a little side view and close up so that you can see the details better. I used the new Banner Triple Punch to get my banners perfect. It's probably my favorite new punch because it makes it so easy to get perfect flags and banners every time.

And here's the whole Cupcake Party set... Why don't I have this yet? I don't know but it's certainly on my list!!

This week I'm also linking my card up to the CYCI#79 Challenge Blog. It doesn't get much better than an anything goes challenge! How could you not enter this one! Haha! It will be fun to check out all of the submissions for this two week challenge.

I hope you'll take a minute to check out what the rest of the WWYS design team has dreamed up this week! I'd love to see your ideas too! Please play along with us for a chance to be a guest designer! Submit your fantastic Cupcake Party projects (doesn't have to be a card) to What Will You Stamp? I'm looking forward to seeing what you've come up with!
Have a great week and Happy Stamping!

WWYS #20: From Land to Sea

Welcome back to What Will You Stamp! I have been so excited because this week's stamp set is one of my new favorites! It's From Land to Sea and it's amazing! I had to choose which of the awesome stamps from this set I would use this week... and since I love jellyfish... Here ya go!

I heat embossed the jelly fish in white on window sheets and then cut them out. I flipped one over so that I could easily use the image in reverse (thank you window sheets for making this so easy!). The background is water colored in quite a few colors so I will list them at the end of my post. I mounted my jelly fish on Island Indigo and Night of Navy (it looks like black in this pic but it's not-I just have terrible lighting in my house) and embossed a little "love" in the bottom corner. I'm happy with the way it came out and I just can't wait to make more!

Here's the whole stamp set... Now you can see why I am so head over heels for it!

I can't wait to see what your ideas for this stamp set are!! Feel free to submit any of your ideas to the What Will You Stamp challenge blog and earn a shot at being our guest designer! I can't wait to see your creations!

Have a great week!

Watercolor Wings Birthday!

The other night I wasn't feeling too hot (food poisoning) but I remembered that I needed to make a birthday card for someone special by the next morning...
She likes soft colors and Watercolor Wings seemed like the perfect set to go with. I used Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Smokey Slate. I love the way it came out.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Saturday!

WWYS #19: Sprinkles of Life

It's Monday everybody and that means another week of What Will You Stamp?! Where do you go when you don't know what to do with that amazing stamp set you just scored? You go to What Will You Stamp of course! Every week we focus on a specific Stampin' Up! stamp set and our design team  hopes to give you some great inspiration to dive into using your own set. If you have the set we are featuring we would love to have you play along with us and share your own ideas!

This week's stamp set is Sprinkles of Life and of course I had to use the coordinating Tree Builder Punch to make my card (because it makes it SO easy!). I like having blank cards around just in case I need a card on the fly and don't have time to make one. It's nice when you can easily grab a gender neutral, sentiment-free card... and so, that's what I've made this week.

This card was simple and easy to make. I embossed the tree leaves in gold on the Mint Macaron tree top. Then I stamped the falling leaves on the Whisper White background in Sahara Sand and did a little sponging on every layer of the card (except for the DSP-that's new DSP called Everyday Chic so ya know) in Sahara Sand. Next I added a little linen thread and some dimensionals and called it a day.

You can do so much with this stamp set! It has great images and great sentiments. It's also Stampin' Ups! Ronald MacDonald House Charity stamp set for the current catalog.  Every time this stamp set is purchased SU will donate $3 to the RMD House charities. That absolutely can you help you to justify buying this amazing set if you don't have it already! Here's what the whole set looks like.

If you want a list of what I used to make this card please check out the table below. Have an amazing Monday and I sure hope you'll join us this week at WWYS!
