WWYS #70: Birthday Fiesta

Hey Everybody! It's Monday and you know what that means... another challenge over at the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog! This week's challenge is Birthday Fiesta!! I love this set (and the matching framelits too) so much and the Llamapaca is my favorite! Aside from the hilarious Llamapaca there are so many other fantastic images. I've decided to feature the cactus on today's card. I hope you like it!

Aside from the cactus stamp I've also used a sentiment from Birthday Fiesta, "Fiesta like there's no maƱana," and, some DSP from the coordinating suite. The streamers do have coordinating stamps but I chose to cut them out of colored paper with the matching framelits instead. I gotta tell ya, it's all pretty fantastic! Oh, yeah! The little pieces of confetti are actually cut using the framelits and are really supposed to be flowers. I like them as confetti though. It's always great when you can use products for more than what they were originally intended for. You won't catch me complaining about a two-fer!

So, this card below is the inside of a birthday card I made. I was crunched for time when I was making my card for this challenge and I decided to use this image as inspiration for the front of a new card. I will say that I do love the Melon Mambo on this one.

If you haven't checked out this whole amazing set yet then here you go. It's got the most amazing Llamapaca, the cactus, papel picado, designs that can be used on the papel picado or on the saddle, streamers, flowers and sentiments! This set just makes me grin!

If you have this set I would love to see what you make with it. Create something fun and submit your project to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog! Looking forward to seeing what you make!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'm always so glad when you stop by!
Have an amazing Monday!
-Maria

Prettiest Kitty!

Hey Everybody! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I've been playing with these adorable little kitties again and let me tell you that they are so fun to watercolor! I stamped a whole bunch of images and just went to town watercoloring all of them. After they were dry I punched them all out and set to work making different cards with them. Today's card is the first in a string of Pretty Kitty cards you'll be seeing over the next few days or so. I started with a Crumb Cake card base sponged around the edges. Then I added some beautiful DSP from one of our new paperstacks called Serene Scenery. It has so many beautiful sheets and one side of every sheet is "photo realistic" (at least that's what I think it's called). The other side has beautiful designs like the one I chose to use for this card.

I wanted this card to look a little bit rustic so I added some lace and a few layers of  twine. Have you noticed that beautiful scalloped circle layer yet? That's from our new Circle Layering Framelits! They are so awesome! I'm having lots of fun using them and I feel like there are so many possibilities for them. Anyhow, I sponged both my banner and my scalloped circle and added my watercolored image to finish it off. This kitty is such a cutie! I hope you think so too!

Alright, it's late night (actually it's morning now-yikes!) and I should be off to bed since I have to  et up pretty early for work tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by-It's always nice to have you. Sweet dreams if you're in my neck of the woods and if you're on the other side of the world then have a wonderful day!

Take care!
-Maria

WWYS #69: Picture Perfect

Hey everybody! It is Monday and you know what that means?! Another round of the What Will You Stamp Challenge is just beginning and this week we are challenging you to use Picture Perfect! Do you have it? If you do I hope you'll join us for the fun!

Now, I have to be honest here and tell you that this stamp set is not my normal style. For whatever reason I don't do a lot of two (or three) step stamping and if you follow me at all then you know I'm not crazy about flowers unless I can color or paint them. So that leaves me with the hummingbird and the sea star... Did you know I have a feather phobia? I wish I were kidding. I have it in my head that feathers are crawling with parasites-I'm pretty sure they really are too. So, lucky for me I love the ocean, and sea life, and, this beautiful sea star! Here's my card for the week!

The first thing I did on this card was to make this fun background. I took my new Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and inked it up with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turquoise inks. I just wiped my ink pads straight onto the folder starting with the lightest color so I wouldn't mess up my pads. I love the way it came out!

This sea star is stamped in Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise and I love the way these two colors blend to give the sea star depth and dimension. I layered the sea star on a 2" circle of Peekaboo Peach  that was embossed in the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. That went on top of half of a silver foil doily and some die cut layers of Bermuda Bay and Whisper White Cardstock. I added some Silver Metallic Thread and Ruched Ribbon behind my layers and topped it off with a sweet sentiment from Picture Perfect.

Ooh, I almost forgot. The Bermuda Bay layer is stamped with one of the stamps from Timeless Textures.

I really had fun with this color combo. What do you think?

Here's the whole Picture Perfect set. Fun two and three-step stamping and some lovely sentiments. If you have this set I would love to see what you will stamp with it! Please share your ideas and creativity with us over at the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you liked my card and that you have an amazing day today! Take care!

WWYS #68: Greatest Greetings

Happy Monday and welcome back to What Will You Stamp! This week we have a fun challenge for you... Greatest Greetings! I love when we use sentiment sets because it is the perfect opportunity for me to show off some additional Stampin' Products. This time I've chosen to highlight the new Host set, Lots of Love, along with Greatest Greetings.

I've been wanting to show off this elephant sending showers of love and thought that the "Sending Smiles" sentiment paired really well with it. I would totally smile if I got showered in elephant spray hearts!

I watercolored the elephant in Smoky Slate and watercolored the water spray in Tempting Turquoise  but using my Clear Wink of Stella to paint (not an Aqua Painter). This is a pretty cool technique that I've been using a lot. It allows you to get a watercolor look on all papers which is so neat! Did you notice my pretty ribbon? That's the new Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon and I am loving it!

Here's a look at the whole Greatest Greetings stamp set. It's such a great set because you can combine the different sayings, or, cut them up to make them say lots of different things.

If you'd like to see more Greatest Greetings cards please head on over to the What Will You Stamp challenge blog. The design team has made some really fun stuff to share with you this week. If you've got a fun idea of your own please submit your creation to the challenge blog and earn a shot at being one of our guest designers. Looking forward to seeing What Will You Stamp this week!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! So nice to have you here!
Have an amazing day!

Well, hey, Pretty Kitty!

Hi and happy Saturday morning! I'm off to enjoy some beautiful weather today with family and friends. We're going to take my friend's baby swimming for the first time! I hope you're getting the chance to enjoy some beautiful weather too!

I'm taking part in the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement and today is my friend Kat's birthday. She loves cats and calls them "kitten cats!" Lol! So, of course I had to make her a kitten cat card. Thank gosh for the new set Pretty Kitty because it has the sweetest little kitties you ever did see. Here's Kat's card.

This is just one of the adorable kitties in the set. I water colored a whole bunch more so be on the lookout for more kitten cat cards soon.

Alright, I'm off to go throw some food together and go enjoy this amazing day! I'm hoping you all have a wonderful day too!

OSAT Blog Hop: Summer Lovin

Hey everybody and welcome back to another One Stamp At a Time blog hop!! We are back to share our monthly dose of awesome inspiration with you and we're so glad to have you join us! This month there are 17 of us and each of us will be sharing both a "Summer Lovin'" themed card and  project with you!

This last week I have been on a huge fairy kick. I love the new Fairy Celebration set from Stampin' Up! I've already featured this set twice this week but I haven't used this particular stamp so I hope you like it! This stamp reminds me of summer because the fairy is sitting outside on a beautiful day and that's what I love to do during summer. Summer sunshine on my face...Yes, please!

I stamped the fairy image onto White Shimmery cardstock using Basic Gray Archival ink. This is a great choice for use with watercoloring because it doesn't smear or run. I like using the gray instead of black because it gives a softer, more subtle look.

The top left side of the card has a little something pretty sticking out. Had you noticed? That's a piece of one of our new doilies! I used Clear Wink of Stella and some Tempting Turquoise ink to die it and give it some sparkle. I did the same with the sentiment tag.

I had so much fun watercoloring this! I used so many different colors on this that I'm not sure I can even remember them all, but, I will try to get them all on my product list at the bottom of the page. Many parts of this are painted in multiple colors. The skirt started out as Wisteria Wonder but it didn't have enough life in it so I added some Pacific Point. The fairy's shirt started out as Peekaboo Peach but it was too bright so I added some Flirty Flamingo for shading. The grass is Old Olive and Bermuda Bay and lots and lots of paint layers. This is the kind of project that just gives me so much joy to create. It took me a while to finish but it was so nice to relax and enjoy the process.

For my project I busted out my new Birthday Fiesta set and matching framelits. I love this set! This set is the first set that I saw in the new catalog that made me freak out. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it and I kept talking about it until I did. Hopefully people didn't think I was too much of a freak talking about my llama stamp...or is it an alpaca? Hopefully someone will clear this up for me soon! So, for my project I made a treat bag with some summery, hot weather fun on the front. The llamapaca is ready to take someone for a ride and the cactus is in full, beautiful bloom! Seriously, this looks like a fun place to be!

Behind the llamapaca I layered a Basic Black swirly scribble from the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies (these dies are so awesome!). The squares behind the llamapaca were cut with the new Layering Squares Framelits. The DSP in the background is all from the new Festive Birthday DSP which coordinates with the Birthday Fiesta stamp set and Fiesta Time Framelits. What an awesome idea for a Birthday Suite! Thank you Stampin' Up!

That's it for my sharing today and I really hope that you liked my projects. Please let me know what you thought in the comments below. Also, I would love to know if there are any new projects that you'd like to see me make a project with? If so, please let me know. If I have what you are looking for I will feature it ASAP!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will continue on along the rest of the OSAT blog hop. Next up is the talented Jeanna Kay!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you all soon!
-Maria.

Fairy Celebration Graduation Card!

Hi! I had a fairy good weekend! Get it?! Sorry, that was bad but really, I did!! I had most of Saturday to myself and I pretty much just played with my new favorite stamp set Fairy Celebration the whole day. I considered digging into my GIGANTIC box of amazing new stuff from the new Stampin' Up! catalog, but... I was captivated by the fairies!

I had quite a few commissioned cards to make this past week and I felt obligated to complete them before I started playing around for fun. Friday I got a call requesting another graduation card (one day's notice) and since I couldn't let go of the fairies this is what I came up with for my customer. Lucky for me my customers who order custom cards often give me creative freedom (thank goodness!). I used the Fairy Celebration set combined with sentiments from the new Places You'll Go  to make this fun Graduation card. I hope the recipient will be excited about it as the inside is customized with her name and the year.

I thought the sentiment, "Adventure Awaits" was perfect for someone who is graduating and heading out into the world to start their life. What an exciting time!

Oh, Boy!! Check out these fairy wings! They are absolutely insanely beautiful! Did you know that they coordinate with the butterfly punch so you can give the fairies 3D wings?! Yes, it's true, I haven't done it yet but just you wait! For now, these wings and fairy dust were painted by dipping my Clear Wink of Stella into some Tempting Turquoise Ink and painting onto the paper. In case you haven't tried this yet it does not damage your Wink of Stella. The ink wipes right out of the brush without any effort. Too cool!

Here's one last shot at the card. I should probably mention that the fairy's dress is painted with Sweet Sugarplum which is one of our new In Colors this year. If you haven't checked out our new In Colors please do-They are amazing!

So, what do you think? Does this card live up to being a "Graduation" card? Please let me know what you think! If you have any questions or would like help ordering products so that you can make your own fairy cards and projects, please let me know. I would love to help you out.

Have an amazing day everybody!
-Maria

WWYS #67: You've Got This

Hey everybody! Guess what day it is?! It's Monday and that means it's time for What Will You Stamp?! Woohoo! Our challenge for the week is the You've Got This set and fabulous news...It has carried over into the new annual catalog!

Here's my card for the week. I used layers of Pacific Point and Whisper White and watercolored the circle behind the flower. I did use a retired acrylic sheet from this year's Sale-a-Bration but I'm not even sorry-that's what we get great products for (to use them when we need them), right?! Guess what, though... In the new catalog we have acrylic sheets with metallic designs on them! So, even though you can't get your hands on this particular sheet that I've used, there is still plenty of fun to be had with acrylic sheets this year! Hurray!

My flower is stamped in Black Archival Ink on Peekaboo Peach cardstock. I colored the center of the flower in Melon Mambo. Then I used my Gold Wink of Stella to color the whole flower in. I went back in with my Wink of Stella and did another layer of shading. It's hard to tell in the picture but the whole flower shimmers and the shaded areas have an extra layer of gold glimmer.

I cut the sentiment out by hand and added some White Perfect Accents and a couple loops of Silver Metallic Twine to finish it off.

Here's one last look at today's card. I sure hope you like it!

Here's what the whole set looks like.

If you want to see more amazing You've Got This projects head on over to the What Will You Stamp? challenge blog and see what the rest of the design team has created this week. If you've got a creative idea of your own we would love to see it! Please add it to the gallery on the challenge blog. I can't wait to see What Will You Stamp with this set!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! It's always so nice to have you.
Have an amazing day today!

Fairy Celebration!!

A couple of days ago I got my fist big delivery full of amazing things from the new Stampin' Up! catalog!! I pulled it all out and I was so happy that I swear I doing that whole run/dance in place thing! After I went through it all and took a peek at everything (video on my fb page) I couldn't stop grinning about the Fairy Celebration set. So, I went to town and made a few cards that I am really excited to share with you. Here's the first one (I'll share the others over the week).

I stamped the smallest fairy onto watercolor paper and painted the background with Dapper Denim and Pacific Point. I did the fairies dress with Peekaboo Peach and her wings with Tempting Turquoise and Wink of Stella.

Those beautiful silver stars are the new Metallic Enamel Shapes. They come in both gold and silver and feature circles, hearts and stars! I love them!

Here's one last view for you...

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you liked my card today. Are you as excited about these fairies as I am? What's your favorite set from the new catalog? Is there anything you'd like to see me feature or use in an upcoming post? Please let me know. I'll be back tomorrow for another week of What Will You Stamp! See you all soon!
