Star Framelits & Be the Star You Are: PP211

This card is my first go at participating in an on-line paper/card challenge. One of my Stampin' Up! buddies, Amanda Sevall, suggested I try doing one and gave me a couple of sites to check out.

Here's a side view so you can see the layers.

One of those sites was "The Paper Players."  This week they are putting on a tic-tac-toe challenge. There is a tic-tac-toe board with different design elements in each square (I posted a picture of their Tic-Tac-Toe board below). The idea is to pick any three-in-a-row design elements and make your card using them. I selected the middle vertical row that had Green, Embossing and Ribbon. It was really fun creating a card based on challenge requirements. It forced me to think about my card differently and to be creative in a way that had some boundaries. I really had fun and I will do it again!

Card Recipe:

The card base is basic gray. The second layer is Island Indigo and the front layer is Pear Pizazz embossed with the new Lucky Stars  Embossing Folder. I used snail adhesive to fix the Silver Ribbon to the back of the Pear Pizazz. The two stars were cut using the Star Framelits and the larger is Island Indigo and the smaller is Pear Pizazz. Both stars are stamped with the Be the Star stamp set and embossed with VersaMark ink and Silver Emboss Powder. I assembled the card with Dimensionals and finished it off by blinging it out with some Rhinestones.

I sure hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by!

  1. We're thrilled that you chose the Paper Players for your first challenge! I love your stars...all of them!!....and especially like the green/blue color combo! Thanks for playing Tic-Tac-Toe with the Players this week! Be sure to come back each week, too! Also, you might not realize that you have word verification turned ON for your comments, which makes it more challenging for people to leave comments (and we want you to get all the comments you deserve!). If you need help on turning it off, just let me know!

Yes, please! I would love some help turning off the word verification. I have no idea how to do that (I did just look but couldn't find it). Thank you for any help!
